Written in plain English on purpose. The short version: the grade is free, the Deep Dive is refundable for 7 days with no questions asked, your idea stays yours, and nothing here is professional advice.
Merit is an automated evaluation instrument. It grades startup ideas across seven weighted dimensions against a published standard and returns a score. That score is the instrument's honest, calibrated opinion — it is not financial, legal, investment, or professional advice, and it is not a prediction or guarantee of any business outcome. Ideas that scored low have succeeded; ideas that scored high have failed. What you build, and whether you build it, is entirely your call.
Grading an idea is free. Submissions are rate-limited to keep the instrument available for everyone; automated or scripted submissions may be refused. Your results are shown on screen and sent to the email you provide.
The Deep Dive is a one-time purchase of $29, processed by Stripe. It is an automated research report generated for your specific submission and delivered to your purchase email — usually within the hour, occasionally a little longer. Like the grade, it is informational: research and analysis, not professional advice.
If you're not happy with your Deep Dive for any reason, email us within 7 days of purchase from the email you bought it with, and we'll refund the full amount. No forms, no argument. Refunds are returned to your original payment method through Stripe, typically within 5–10 business days.
Merit claims no ownership of anything you submit. Your submission is processed by AI models to produce your evaluation, and that's it. Your score certificate lives at an unguessable link that only becomes public if you share it. We will never publish your idea ourselves.
Merit is provided as-is. To the maximum extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you've paid us. We may update these terms; the version on this page is the one in force. These terms are governed by the laws of the United States.
